In april of 2008 the clinic gave our family a very wonderful gift, and that was a second chance with my wife. She had a very bad heart attack and nearly died, until I met some very awesome people, the LVAD team and Dr. Gonzo. Together they made things clear and easy for me to understand, even thou things was very serious they went out of there way to make sure I understood everything they had to say. It wasnt easy for us, but with there help and tons of effort on there part, I now have my wife back. Over the last couple months and god knows how many visits back to the clinic they have all become part of our family. Gonzo is thee best doctor all around that I have ever met, greets us with hugs and hand shakes and laughs and jokes, At first I didnt know how to take all that, I have never in my life met a doctor that is like him, he tells it like it is and at the same time makes us feel at ease and never holds back on his care. The LVAD team is simply first class, what a awesome group of people, before all this if you asked me what a heartmate was I wouldnt have had a clue, and after all the teaching and care from them, it makes me feel good being able to explain not only what a heartmate is but also how it works, and even better when Iam able to share that info with our local doctors who seem to not have one clue lol. We have another chance because of the people here at the clinic and saying thank you just dont feel like it would be enough. But thank you, we still have a long road in front of us, a heart transplant is our goal and we look forward to it, and there isnt a another place on earth we would rather go to then the cleveland clinic. So many wonderful people make our visits here worth the trip here. Thanks for everything..

The Vaughn family.
