Bridget Duffy, MD - Cleveland Clinic Chief Experience Officer
Welcome!
When I walk though our new front doors every morning, I can’t help but marvel at the sight. I’m proud to be part of a movement at Cleveland Clinic that values providing not only state of the art facilities and clinical expertise, but providing the best possible experience for our patients. From the moment they call to make an appointment to the time they are discharged from our care, we are dedicated to making it the best experience possible.
We have integrated many patient friendly-design ideas in to our new buildings to help enhance the experience for all of our patients.
All of our new patient rooms are private, designed to provide a serene and healing atmosphere for our patients, their families, and their healthcare providers. In this setting, rich wood finishes and artwork enhance the healing environment, medical equipment is hidden as often as possible, and a pull out sofa is available to accommodate family members.
We’ve also paid great attention to the value of art in our common spaces. Using artwork from artists who highlight the relationship between the human spirit and condition, the space soothes and comforts.
Our rooftop pavilion provides a space for an often needed break from the stresses of a hospital stay for our patients and families. This environment helps us promote relaxation in an open and light-filled environment.
While all of these enhancements in the physical environment play a crucial role in the healing process, we also understand that the human interaction makes a big difference: a kind word from a Red Coat greeter at the door, an empathetic physician who truly listens to and responds to the patient’s needs, a nurse who takes the extra time to answer every question from patients and families. All of these interactions form the full experience of our patients.
We are all here to help our patients heal and we look forward to serving all of our patients in our new space.
