Carl D. Glickman
Benefactor, Glickman Tower
Member, Glickman Urological and Kidney Institute Leadership Board
Why did I give? That’s simple. Cleveland Clinic saved my life. Dr. Novick and his team were the only ones who could give me a kidney transplant. There was no question about giving back.
The Glickman Urological and Kidney Institute needed new quarters, and we wanted to help make it happen. When Glickman Tower opens, the institute will have the space worthy of the service and care provided by this team. Nurses, technicians and physicians will have the best equipment and proper settings to do their jobs. Patients will be able to have their exams, tests and x-rays in one location on campus, and in one day. Ultimately, Glickman Tower will allow the institute’s doctors and nurses to help more people.
My wife, Babs, and I wanted to make sure that Dr. Novick and his team have what they need to care for every patient. That meant building a better facility, and funding research into new treatments. As we celebrate the new Glickman Tower, we all need to continue supporting what happens inside.
From the schedulers to the researchers and surgeons, this team is doing incredible things. When I see the headlines on minimally invasive surgery, genetics and kidney cancer breakthroughs, I am confident that, with the right support, they are going to help many more people like me in coming years. Babs and I are honored to be associated with the Cleveland Clinic Glickman Urological and Kidney Institute and Glickman Tower.
Carl D. and Babs Glickman are Distinguished Fellows, an honor bestowed upon friends for extraordinary contributions of time and resources to further the mission of Cleveland Clinic.
